Vekkilä Museum Yard
Accommodation, local culinary experiences and friendly animals on a Tavastian family farm in Tammela
Vekkilä Museum Yard is located in the middle of Tammela municipality on the shores of beautiful Lake Pyhäjärvi.
Krisse, the shepherd and the farmer, is responsible for the small scale farm’s everyday life and animal care. Clean and natural food is produced for both animals and people. Organic is not just a production method on the farm, but a part of everyday life. In addition to Finnsheep, the farm has rare breed peasant chickens, three hardworking herding dogs and a rodent patrol of two farmyard cats. Everything we do is based on animal welfare, moderation and respect for nature.
The farm is located in the Kanta-Häme region, in the centre of Tammela, on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi. The Vekkilä family farm with its main buildings and courtyards invites you to an idyll dating back to the 16th century.
